Biography

Michelle Hunziker is the daughter of a Dutch mother and a Swiss painter. In 1980, her family moved to German-speaking Switzerland, where they lived in various places, including Ostermundigen and Zuchwil near Solothurn.

In 1993, Michelle moved to Bologna with her mother and worked as a catalog model. She traveled to Milan at the age of 17 to pursue a career as a model, where she discovered Riccardo Gay, a renowned agent who signed her up.

Michelle Hunziker gained attention for her work in erotic lingerie advertising and met Eros Ramazotti, an Italian pop star, in a discotheque. They had a child, daughter Aurora, in 1997 and got married the following year.

She began her television career as a presenter on the Italian prime-time comedy show "Paperissima Sprint" in 1998 and also hosted "Zelig" and "Scherzi a parte" for Italian television, earning her two awards.

Michelle Hunziker took acting lessons in Los Angeles and appeared in four films: "Voglio stare sotto al letto", "The Protagonist", "Ancient Warriors", and "Alex, the Aries". She hosted the "Golden Camera" with Thomas Gottschalk in Germany and appeared as a laudator at the Bambi Awards and a guest on several shows.

Together with Thomas Elstner, she directed the ARD program "Erstes Glück", in which celebrities talked about their first love. She recorded the show "Festival Bar" in Italy, a music show featuring 40 international artists, and toured theaters throughout Italy with "Zelig".

After seven years of marriage to Eros Ramazotti, Michelle Hunziker initiated the separation of their relationship in 2002, retaining custody of their daughter Aurora. She presented the RTL show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" with Carsten Spengemann and worked on the second season of the show in 2003.

Michelle Hunziker returned to Italy in 2004, where she moderated the show "Striscia La NOTEIA" on Canale 5. She released her first album "Lole" and single "From Noon Till Midnight" in December 2006.

In 2007, she hosted the 57th edition of the San Remo Music Festival alongside Pippo Baudo. From October 3, 2009, she hosted the German-language television show "Wetten,dass..?" alongside Thomas Gottschalk.
