Michael Sigler is an American actor recognized for his striking blue eyes, warm and friendly voice, and an air of quiet intensity that captivates audiences. Born at the crack of dawn on July 2, 1964, at Miners Hospital in Frostburg, MD, USA, Michael's early life was marked by a passion for the performing arts.
As a child, Michael's first stage experience was in Mrs. Conway's first-grade class at Frost Elementary School, where he sang "I'm Going To Ride in a Rocket Ship" in a play. This early exposure to the world of theatre was timely, given the excitement surrounding the moon landing at the time.
Growing up in a musical family, Michael was encouraged to develop his singing and piano-playing skills from a young age. He was joined by his sister, niece, and numerous cousins in this pursuit, leading to a lifelong love of music and exploration of various instruments.
Michael's school years were filled with cherished memories of his time in Symphonic Band, Marching Band, and Senior Choir at Allegany High School in Cumberland, MD. His musical talents were further honed through his studies at Frostburg State College and Montgomery College Rockville.
The seeds of Michael's acting career were sown during his time at American Showcase Theatre in Alexandria, VA, where he studied with Bethany Brown. He began acting in the Washington, DC area in 1989 and continued to perform until 1994, when he took a temporary break from acting for personal reasons.
Twenty years later, Michael returned to the stage at the 2014 Montgomery Playhouse One-Act Festival, with the full support of his wife, Laurie. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one that would fill the void left by his initial departure from acting. With Laurie by his side, Michael rediscovered the joy of performance and has since dedicated himself to a life on stage, a path he could never imagine leaving behind.
