Since 1970, Pakleppa has been involved in a wide range of projects, including TV movies, feature films, shorts, documentaries, and specials. His expertise has taken him to various countries, including Germany, England, the United States, and Africa, where he has worked as a co-director, editor, trailer director, and dubbing director on numerous theatrical feature films.
Pakleppa has been an integral part of the New German Cinema movement since 1972, when he collaborated with esteemed directors such as R.W. Fassbinder, Werner Herzog, and Wim Wenders through the "Filmverlag der Autoren" collective. This association not only honed his skills but also provided him with a platform to work on some of the most influential films of the era.
In the 1980s, Pakleppa took the initiative to establish the German theatrical distributor "Filmwelt," which enabled him to develop a robust network of co-production and distribution partnerships across Europe. Through this venture, he had the privilege of distributing or co-producing some of the most notable works of the New British and American Cinema, including films by John Carpenter, Neil Jordan, and Monty Python.
