He has garnered widespread recognition for his work on several notable projects, including the 2007 mockumentary "Being Michael Madsen", the 2017 supernatural mystery "Diane", and the 2021 sci-fi thriller "The Changed". Furthermore, Mongillo co-wrote and directed the 2001 psychological horror film "The Wind", as well as the 2005 sci-fi dramedy "Welcome to Earth".
