Biography

Michael Goetz was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, USA, and his roots can be traced back to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Frankfort, Kentucky, through his father and mother, respectively. His younger brother, a retired US Marine Lieutenant Colonel, has had a distinguished career, having worked at the White House under both Clinton and Bush administrations, and is also a relative of the renowned MGM film producer, William Goetz.

As an actor, Michael has demonstrated his versatility by taking on a wide range of roles, from comedy to drama to musicals, both in European and American productions. He has been described as a "retro-style movie actor, blended with a character actor of today" and has never been a typical leading man.

In his acting career, Michael has often been mistaken for veteran actor Peter Michael Goetz, and has been called in for interviews by casting directors and producers who have made this mistake. On stage, television, and film, he has played a variety of troubled characters, including Cougar Glass in the Philip Ridley play "The Fastest Clock in the Universe" and Scrooge in the classic 1970s era musical version of "A Christmas Carol".

Michael has also had a successful career in advertising, serving as an ad campaign spokesman for Emblique-Organic Skin Care Products and being the commercial voice of Re/Max Realty ads on national TV and Radio for two and a half years. He has continued to do a variety of voice overs for documentaries and commercials and has won two Telly Awards for co-producing, writing, and narrating documentary films in 2012 and 2013.

In addition to his acting and voice over work, Michael has also hosted and produced a website featuring "off the cuff" interviews and conversations with actors and personalities at parties and red carpet events in and around Hollywood. He is also a skilled musician, having studied opera and currently singing in a jazz pop quartet in Los Angeles. Michael has played the bass professionally in classical and jazz settings and has toured with a jazz/pop band as a bassist and backup vocalist.

Furthermore, Michael is a hobbyist automobile restorer and collector, and has even done his own stunt and precision driving in his film projects. He has also hosted several web series providing technical advice on classic car restoration.
