Michael's journey began in London, England, where he spent his formative years in both England and Canada. His path to stardom started in Georgetown, Ontario, where he discovered his passion for theater arts in high school. Inspired by his teacher Michelle Mole, he became heavily involved in school productions, writing, producing, and performing his own shows.
He later joined the Georgetown Little Theater Company and Bramalea theater company The New Generation Players, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. Michael then created and taught an after-school theater program for grade seven and eight students.
Eventually, he moved to Victoria, British Columbia, to study performing arts and art history at the University of Victoria. During this period, he auditioned and became a member of The Corner Store Theater Company and Edna Brown's Dinner Theater Company, performing in several productions to great acclaim.
Michael's radio career began when he was approached by Chris Ogilvie, the Creative Director at CJVI, to voice radio commercials and comedy sketches for the station. In the mid-1980s, the film industry started to take off in Vancouver, and Michael made the move to pursue a film career.
He continued to develop his craft at The Gastown Actors Studio and attended regular classes with veteran actor Claire Kaplan. Michael's big break came when he guest-starred on TV series such as The X-Files, Stargate, Viper, Seven Days, and many others, as well as feature films.
A chance meeting with fellow actor and close friend Scott McNeil led Michael to discover the growing voice-over industry in Vancouver. He attended a workshop by renowned voice actor and director Sue Blu, which ultimately led to him landing the role of Sgt. Savage in GI Joe Extreme.
Michael has since played an impressive array of characters, including Super Villains and Super Heroes, such as Leonardo in the Mutant Ninja Turtles, Starscream in Transformers Armada, Energon, and Cybertron, Cobra Commander in GI Joe, Niles Van Roekel in The Marvel Nemesis video game Rise of The Imperfects, Nappa in Dragon Ball Z, The Blob in X-Men Evolution, Ronan the Accuser in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes, Kazuki Fuse in Jin Roh, and even Batman and the Joker in Warner Premier's Batman Black & White.
With a career spanning 30 years, Michael is a multi-award-winning actor who has voiced a wide range of projects, including animation, video games, motion comics, radio and television commercials, movie trailers, audiobooks, documentaries, and television and radio IDs in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.
