Michael Cole was a renowned British writer, whose remarkable creative output spanned multiple decades, from the 1970s to the 1990s. During this prolific period, he conceptualized and brought to life a plethora of captivating children's programs, including the beloved Alphabet Castle, Heads and Tails, and Ragtime. His work in the realm of children's television earned him a prestigious award from the Society of Film and Television, later rebranded as the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA),in the category of Best Children's Programme.

In collaboration with his wife, Joanne Cole, Michael co-created the endearing character of Bod, originally introduced in a series of four books published in 1965. This beloved character would later be adapted into a television show in the 1970s, captivating audiences of all ages. Additionally, Michael and Joanne Cole were responsible for the creation of Fingerbobs and Gran, further solidifying their reputation as a dynamic and imaginative creative duo.
