Michael Childers is a renowned photographer with a career spanning over four decades. He has worked extensively in the fields of film, dance, and theater, and has been recognized for his contributions to the art world.
Born in North Carolina, Childers studied at UCLA Film School, where he began his photography career under the guidance of Robert Heineken and Edward Teske. He went on to create the mixed media work for the hit off-Broadway musical "Oh Calcutta" and was subsequently invited to work with Sir Laurence Olivier's National Theater in London.
Childers has worked as a photographer for various magazines, including GQ, New York, TV Guide, Esquire, and Vogue. He has also created over 100 film posters for major motion picture studios and has worked as a special photographer on many films.
In addition to his work in film and photography, Childers has also worked as a production assistant and co-producer on several films, including "Midnight Cowboy" and "The Falcon and the Snowman."
Childers is currently working on a new project, "Passionate Moves: Contact Yoga for Couples," a lavishly illustrated photography book featuring nude couples practicing yoga positions. His work has been featured in several books and exhibitions, including "Masterpieces of Erotic Photography" and "Femmes."
Childers' work is held in the collections of several museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and the National Portrait Gallery in London, the Marion Museum of Photographic Studies in Santa Fe, and the Laguna Art Museum.
