Mi Er, a renowned professional manga artist based in Beijing, China, has made a significant impact in the industry with his remarkable body of work. His professional journey began as a director-level manga artist at Tianjin Animation Hall Art Development Co., Ltd., where he gained valuable experience and honed his skills.
Throughout his career, Mi Er has created several notable works, including the acclaimed "Under One Person", which has garnered widespread recognition and acclaim. Despite his professional success, Mi Er's personal life has been marked by a series of unconventional choices, which have ultimately shaped his journey.
Mi Er's educational background is quite unique, as he did not pursue higher education, instead opting to graduate from a vocational high school. Prior to entering the comic industry, Mi Er worked as a chef, a profession he reportedly enjoyed immensely. However, at the age of 30, he made a pivotal decision that would alter the course of his life, opting to leave his job as a chef and pursue a new path.
This turning point in his life was triggered by a chance encounter with a recruitment advertisement in the newspaper, which led him to apply for a position as a comic assistant to renowned comic artist Ren Changhong. This marked the beginning of his journey in the comic industry, which would ultimately lead him to become a successful manga artist in his own right.
Two years into his career, Mi Er received an unexpected phone call from his friend, comic artist Ren Xiang, inviting him to meet Li Jing, the founder of "Soulmate Comics", at a hotel in Beijing. Initially, Mi Er was not referred to by his current name, but rather as Mi Fu. During their conversation, Ren Xiang described Mi Er as an exceptional individual, and Li Jing jokingly suggested that they rename him Mi Er.
Mi Er has since spoken openly about this experience in various interviews, showcasing his willingness to share his personal story and the unconventional path that has led him to success.
