Meryl, the child of a military father, had a nomadic upbringing, relocating to various places before being enrolled in a boarding school at the tender age of 10. This unconventional childhood may have inadvertently instilled in her a deep-seated desire to find a sense of belonging and create new "family" dynamics within the acting world, allowing her to form meaningful connections with her co-stars and crew members through each and every project she undertakes.
After attending drama school in her twenties, Meryl took a temporary detour from her acting career, instead opting to establish her own business as a presentation skills training consultant. Although this venture may have seemed unrelated to her artistic pursuits, the valuable qualities she developed during this period - such as the ability to strike a delicate balance between authority and empathy, as well as warmth - have surprisingly proven to be highly transferable skills in many of her subsequent acting roles. Some 15 years after her return to the acting world, Meryl has honed her craft and refined her artistry, drawing upon the diverse experiences and skills she has acquired along the way.
In recent years, Meryl has also ventured into the realm of writing, with her debut collaboration on a short film currently making waves on the festival circuit. As she embarks on the production of her next project, she is relishing the opportunity to approach the industry from a fresh and unconventional perspective, embracing the challenges and rewards that come with being a multi-faceted artist.
