Meredith Leigh Monroe, a talented actress, was born in the vibrant city of Houston, Texas, and spent her formative years in the charming town of Hinsdale, Illinois. Prior to her successful acting career, Meredith made a name for herself by appearing on packaging for various products, including a Conair hair crimper, and gracing the covers of five books in the popular Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys series. Her early exposure to the spotlight also included a commercial for Tylenol Sinus in 1996, marking her television debut.
Meredith's big break came when she landed the role of Tracey Daiken on ABC's drama series, Dangerous Minds, in 1996. This initial success paved the way for her to secure the part of Laura Elizabeth Ingalls Wilder in the television movie, Beyond the Prairie II: The True Story of Laura Ingalls Wilder Continues, which was completed in 2002 but not released until the same year. The exposure from this project led to Meredith being cast as the troubled teenager, Andie McPhee, on the WB's hit series, Dawson's Creek, in 1998. She went on to play this role for three seasons, from episodes 201 to 407, before departing the show in 2000.
Although Meredith's character left the show to spend a year in Italy before attending Harvard University, she made a triumphant return in the same season to film the graduation episode, episode 422. Since her departure from Dawson's Creek, Meredith has enjoyed success in film, appearing in ABC's The One in 2003 and making a small appearance in Minority Report in 2002. She has also landed a major role in ABC's TV series, Married to the Kellys, where she co-stars with Road Trip star, Breckin Meyer, in 2003.
