In 2019, she received her first EMMY NOMINATION for Outstanding Direction in a Children's Program for her outstanding work on Odd Squad Season 2.
Melanie made her directorial debut with the psychological thriller, Harms Way, and has since become a sought-after television director, having been selected for the inaugural Shaw Media and NSI Diverse TV Director's Program in 2015.
Throughout her career, she has directed an impressive 75+ episodes of television, showcasing her versatility and range across a variety of genres and platforms. Her work can be seen on numerous networks and streaming services, including APPLE TV+, HULU, AMAZON, CTV, NBC UNIVERSAL, NICKELODEON, FAMILY CHANNEL, YTV, CBC, SESAME WORKSHOP, MTV, and PBS.
Melanie's extensive experience has equipped her with a unique skillset, particularly in working with VFX elements in storytelling, including seamless interactions with CGI characters. Her latest project, the action-adventure series Endlings, featured Creatures and Aliens, which she directed for CBC, BBC, and HULU.
