McManus Woodend, a multifaceted individual, has made a significant impact in both the film industry and academia.
As a performer, Woodend is perhaps best known for his decade-long portrayal of the GEICO Caveman, starring in over 25 national commercials for the iconic character. His acting credits also include notable roles in Netflix films such as The Kindergarten Teacher, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected),and The Incredible Jessica James.
Beyond his work in front of the camera, Woodend has also made a mark behind the lens. He co-created the feature-length motion picture Rocksteppy, which premiered at the Sound Unseen Film +Music Festival and later received theatrical releases in New York and Los Angeles. Furthermore, the treatment for his follow-up feature film King Dom was selected and presented at the prestigious IFP/Gotham Film Conference.
Currently, Woodend serves as an Assistant Professor of Digital Media at the University of Southern Indiana. He holds a Ph.D. in Literary, Musical, and Critical Thought from The European Graduate School, as well as a Filmmaking graduate degree from the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts. Woodend's educational background also includes undergraduate degrees in Film Production and Entertainment Business from Full Sail University.
