Biography

Maxine is a multi-talented individual who has excelled in various fields throughout her 15-year career. She has worked as an entertainer, TV comedy writer and producer, New Media entrepreneur, and reality show host.

Currently, Maxine is producing and co-hosting an 8-hour reality series for BRAVO called Situation: Comedy, which is a documentary-style show about writing sitcoms. She is also executive producing and supervising two pilots for NBC.

In addition to her TV work, Maxine is developing an animated series with cult artist Shag and actress/producer Lisa Kudrow, and a mock-reality show co-produced with Ben Silverman's company, Reveille. She has also completed her first feature film, a dark comedy called BOY MEETS GIRL.

Maxine has had a successful career in television, working on influential half-hour comedies such as Ellen, Roseanne, Home Improvement, and Dharma and Greg. She has been nominated for several awards, including three Emmys, a Golden Globe, and a People's Choice Award.

In 1999, Maxine co-founded VOXXY, Inc., a highly acclaimed interactive network and multimedia entertainment company aimed at teenage girls. She raised initial financing for the company and convinced several influential women in entertainment, business, and sports to participate.

Maxine was responsible for convincing big names in show business to star in and create interactive entertainment for VOXXY, including Jennifer Aniston, Caroline Rhea, Melissa Etheridge, and over thirty writers, producers, and directors in Hollywood. She served as Co-President of the company from 1999-2001, overseeing talent relations, programming, finance, public relations, and corporate affairs.

VOXXY garnered awards for design and programming and received extensive press coverage. The company and its founders were featured in several trade and consumer magazines, including The Wall Street Journal, US Weekly, and People Magazine.

Prior to VOXXY, Maxine combined her writing and performing talents to wow critics and audiences with SITUATION TRAGEDY: Observations on 10 years in Hollywood...with Bongos. The show ran to sold-out houses at the Globe Playhouse in Hollywood and won 14 Dramalogue Awards.

Maxine began her career at 14, doing stand-up comedy in Pittsburgh, and later attended Carnegie Mellon Drama School, where she graduated with a B.F.A. in acting and playwriting. She then moved to New York, where she performed at landmark clubs such as the Duplex, Caroline's, and the Improvisation.

During her successful years as a headliner, Maxine also appeared in several TV shows, including A&E's Evening at the Improv, and in the film Wisecracks. She has also written comedy material for fellow comedians Joan Rivers, Andrea Martin, Lily Tomlin, and Joley Fisher.
