Max Cavalera, a Brazilian musician born to a Brazilian mother and an Italian ambassador father, co-founded the influential death metal band Sepultura with his brother Igor Cavalera. As the band's lead vocalist and guitarist, Sepultura released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Roots" and "Chaos A.D.", which garnered widespread recognition and admiration.
In addition to his work with Sepultura, Max Cavalera collaborated with Fudge Tunnel's lead singer Alex Newport to form the side project Nailbomb, which yielded one notable track featured in the 1995 film "To Die for", directed by Gus Van Sant. This song, titled "Wasting Away", showcased the band's unique sound and style.
As the years went by, Sepultura underwent a lineup change, and Max Cavalera decided to leave the band to pursue a new musical venture, Soulfly. As the lead vocalist and guitarist of Soulfly, Max released two albums, "Soulfly" and "Primitive", cementing his reputation as a versatile and innovative musician.
Fast-forwarding to 2002, Soulfly released their third album, marking another milestone in Max's illustrious career. Moreover, Max provided the distinctive screams for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Scorpion King character in the 2001 film "The Mummy Returns", further showcasing his talent and range as a musician.
