Matthew Solomon, a multifaceted individual, was honored as the "Best Emerging Filmmaker" by the RIP Horror Film Festival in 2015. Born and raised on the vibrant streets of West Hollywood, California, he attended Fairfax High School, where he developed a unique major, "Sneaking Off To Canter's For Lunch". This unconventional academic path set the stage for his future endeavors.
Matthew's academic journey continued at the University of Southern California School of Music, where he earned a Studio/Jazz Guitar scholarship. He then pursued his passion for music, playing guitar and bass in several local bands, before transitioning into the world of acting, directing, and writing for film and television.
Driven by a strong sense of social justice and equity, Matthew's work extended beyond the entertainment industry. He provided conflict resolution services for organizations in need, using his skills to make a positive impact.
As the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, Matthew seized the opportunity to further his education. He earned a Master's degree in Public Administration in early 2020 and directed the powerful documentary "Reimagining Safety". This critically acclaimed film has won numerous awards at film festivals and has been screened globally, showcasing his talent for storytelling and his commitment to creating a more equitable world.
