Matthew, a talented individual, graduated from the National Institute Of Dramatic Art in 1998, and since then, he has been playing lead roles in various mediums.
On the big screen, his notable films include "Looking For Alibrandi", "My Mother Frank", "The Bet", "Bitter and Twisted", "Blurred", "The Great Raid", and "Queen Of The Damned". He has also made a significant impact on television, starring in the critically acclaimed mini-series "Changi", for which he received a Silver Logie Award nomination.
On stage, Matthew has showcased his versatility, taking on roles such as Tony in "Boy Gets Girl", opposite Miranda Otto, Marcello in "The White Devil", alongside Hugo Weaving and Philip Quast, Mosca in "Volpone", opposite Barry Otto, Irwin in "The History Boys", earning him a Helpmann Award nomination, and Jan in the Australian premiere of Tom Stoppard's "Rock N Roll".
As a comedian, Matthew was a popular guest on the groundbreaking improvisational television show "Thank God You're Here" and reprised his role as Nick Driscoll in the second season of the cult comedy series "Stupid, Stupid Man".
In addition to his acting career, Matthew has also pursued his passion for music, performing on numerous national broadcasts, including "Carols By Candlelight", "Studio A", and "The Big Night In", and even supported himself through drama school by working in the Sydney jazz scene.
As a director, Matthew made his debut with the underground feature "right here right now", which won Best Film at the Rebelfest International Film Festival in 2006, and his second feature "three blind mice", which he also wrote, won the prestigious FIPRESCI Critic's Award at the London Film Festival in 2008.
