Matthew Ewald's extensive acting career began in 2001 when he completed his first feature film, "Terminal Error," and simultaneously portrayed Nicholas Bluetooth on the popular FOX science fiction/adventure television series "Galidor." The franchise, an international hit, led to the creation of his own action figure through the LEGO brand and merchandising rights through various companies, including Cap'N'Crunch cereal, McDonald's Happy Meal Toys, XBOX, and Playstation.
Since then, Matthew has been involved in over ninety productions, including the upcoming World War II feature "Condor's Nest," alongside veteran actors Arnold Vosloo, Michael Ironside, and Bruce Davison, as well as the remake of the 1959 classic "Plan 9 From Outer Space," and the psychological horror feature "Athena," for which he won the Macabre Faire Film Festival's Best Actor in a Feature Film award.
Matthew has also taken on leading roles in various projects, such as the malevolent Man in Black in the Amazon Prime Original Series "Morty," and the amnesiac drifter in Darkstone Entertainment's "The Dark Net." He is set to appear in upcoming feature films like the horror/science-fiction drama "Blood Pledge" and the cat and mouse 80s throwback "The Stalker."
In 2020, during a time of lockdown in the Entertainment industry, Matthew decided to bring his own creative visions to life, creating a number of short films and completing his first feature film, "The Coffin Bound Kings," without a cast or crew, driven solely by his passion for performance and the love of acting. This project resulted in numerous awards and nominations.
As a published author, Matthew has written numerous horror stories and four horror novels. With an impressive body of work and an unwavering passion for acting, Matthew is set to continue his dramatic career in the genres he loves, with a slew of upcoming projects in 2021 and beyond.
Matthew's performance in "The Coffin Bound Kings" was compared to 'a tour de force reminiscent of the legendary Joaquin Phoenix.'
