Matthew Bennett, a talented individual, was born and raised in the vibrant city of Toronto. As he navigated his academic journey, he made a pivotal decision to switch schools in grade 11, opting to attend Northern Secondary School with the intention of pursuing a career in graphic arts. However, his path took an unexpected turn when he stumbled upon the theatre program, and his passion for acting and writing was ignited.
After taking a year to gain work experience, Bennett made the move to Vancouver to commence his formal training. This marked the beginning of his illustrious career in the entertainment industry.
Matthew Bennett is perhaps best known for his captivating performance as Aaron Doral, the ruthless Cylon #5, in the critically acclaimed science fiction series, Battlestar Galactica. Throughout his career, he has accumulated an impressive body of work, starring in over 150 hours of network television. His exceptional acting skills have earned him two best actor nominations for his portrayal of Detective Len Harper on the award-winning police drama, Cold Squad.
In addition to his television credits, Matthew has appeared in over thirty films, sharing the screen with renowned actors such as John Cusack, Edward James Almos, Joan Rivers, and Academy Award winners Brenda Fricker and Sissy Spacek.
After spending 15 years in Vancouver, Matthew has returned to his hometown of Toronto, where he currently resides.
