Matt Johnson is a two-time Emmy Award-winning Showrunner, Executive Producer, and Writer with over three decades of experience in the entertainment industry. He has worked in film, television, stage, and global live events, showcasing his versatility and expertise.
Johnson served as the Showrunner and Head Writer of the acclaimed "Kitten Bowl" franchise for Hallmark Channel, and co-executive produced its spin-off series "Cat Bowl" for its first two seasons. He has also collaborated with Amblin, NBC/Universal, and Toniebox on the audio-drama series "Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous" and "Secret Garden," both set to debut in 2025.
In addition to his work in television, Johnson is currently developing a new scripted franchise with Amblin, NBC/Universal, and Toniebox, which will premiere in over 50 countries for World Cup 2026. His upcoming feature film project, "Tee's Pot's," celebrates adoption and Chinese tea pottery, and is set to release on Hallmark Channel.

He served as the former chair of Diversity & Inclusion for the Producers Guild and has been a member of the Television Academy Honors Committee for the past two years, recognizing programs that inspire and drive social change.

During his tenure as Senior Director of Production and Operations for PBS Southern California, his team earned 7 Emmys and 19 LA Press Club Awards. He has also spearheaded productions for various high-profile events, including The Grammy Awards, Formula 1 Las Vegas, Riot Games global shows, Billboard Music Awards, Wheel Of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Super Bowl campaigns for Fortune 500 clients at Deutsch LA.
Matt Johnson has also made a mark in the film industry, with notable projects including "Manipede," "Butterflies," "True Fiction," "Final Call," "The Goth Next Door," "Chalk," and "Texas." He partnered with Bruce Willis and Weimar Pictures on the documentary feature film "Bruce Willis: Why The Legend Never Dies," which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and was distributed by VOX Germany.
Johnson's passion for storytelling extends to his work as the Founder and Executive Director of "New Frequency," a modern radio drama company that has produced sold-out performances and over 200 original audio episodes for SiriusXM, including six albums.
