Biography

Matt Ferrucci is a Filipino-American writer and director from San Francisco, known for his unique blend of humor and heart in his work, which often focuses on underdog characters overcoming adversity.

As a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC),Matt is an alumnus of the prestigious Warner Brothers Discovery/HBO Directing Program and the ABC Diversity Showcase. His work has garnered numerous awards and nominations, including Best Director and Best TV Comedy for his project Companion at the ITVFest and Catalyst Content Festival. Companion was also nominated for Best Short Film of the Year at the Best of New Filmmakers LA Awards and was an official selection of the television festival SeriesFest, where he received the Caz Matthews Grant for emerging filmmakers.

Matt has directed several notable projects, including the dark comedy Kensington, which won Best TV Pilot at the SOHO International Film Festival in New York and Best of Fest at the First Glance Film Festival. Film Threat Magazine praised Kensington, calling it "...a love letter to Philadelphia." In 2022, he directed the project Anything For You, a script he adapted from the play written by Cate Allen. The film was an official selection of four Academy qualifying festivals and won Best Drama Short at the First Glance Film Festival.

As a writer and director, Matt has worked on two seasons of the Comedy Central sketch show Triptank, directing a range of notable talent including Amy Schumer, Keegan Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Nat Faxon, Andrew Dice Clay, Cheech Marin, Pete Holmes, and others. As an actor, Matt has appeared on several television shows, including Grey's Anatomy, General Hospital, CSI: Miami, Haunted, Agents of Shield, Secrets & Lies, and the film Wilde Salome directed by Al Pacino. He will also be appearing in the 2025 feature film Hello Out There, starring Chloe Bennet, Phil Dunster, and Jennifer Beals.

In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Matt can be heard as a co-host on the popular sports and pop culture podcast Beat LA, alongside his co-host Paul Ruehl.
