Mary McCormack's journey in the entertainment industry began with a stage production of Gian Carlo Menotti's beloved Christmas opera, "Amahl and the Night Visitors". At the tender age of twelve, she landed the role, despite initially being mistaken for an eight-year-old boy due to her youthful appearance. As fate would have it, no other boys in town possessed the necessary singing talent, allowing Mary to secure the part and don a hat to complete her character.
Following her successful debut, Mary continued to hone her craft regionally throughout New Jersey, while simultaneously pursuing her education at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. At Trinity, she majored in English and painting, further nurturing her creative talents. Her passion for the stage remained unwavering, as she continued to appear in numerous musicals and productions.
After completing an acting program at the esteemed William Esper Studio, Mary's professional career flourished, with numerous performances in various New York theaters. Some of her notable credits include The Atlantic Theatre Company, Alice's 4th Floor, and Naked Angels, where she recently took to the stage in Jon Robin Baitz's critically acclaimed play, "A Fair Country".
