Mary Alexandra Stiefvater, a talented individual, was born in Chico, California, and spent her formative years in Stockton, where she was introduced to the world of theater and dance at a young age.
She then pursued higher education at the University of California at Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Theater, while also studying French cinema and philosophy at the Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris and Le Centre Parisien d'Études Critiques.
Following her graduation, Stiefvater relocated to England to hone her craft at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Five days after completing her training, she packed her bags and headed to New York City to pursue a career in theater, film, television, and modeling.
In addition to her acting skills, Stiefvater is a skilled dancer and holds a stage combat certificate from the British Academy of Dramatic Combat, training in various weapons and unarmed combat techniques.
Her breakthrough came when she regularly appeared in comedy skits on The Late Show with David Letterman and contributed motion capture work for the character of Mona Sax in Max Payne 2 with Rockstar Games.
Stiefvater's collaboration with Rockstar Games continued with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and The Warriors. She later relocated to Los Angeles, where she enjoyed success in television shows such as The Mentalist, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The Wedding Bells & Happy Hour.
Known for her work in independent films, Stiefvater has appeared in a range of projects, including Supergator, Bear, Speed-Dating, Driving By Braille, Loveless in Los Angeles, The Perfect Boyfriend, Easy Rider: The Ride Back, & Four Lane Highway. She has also modeled for numerous print ads, appeared in commercials, and worked on web-series.
To maintain her presence in the ever-changing entertainment industry, Stiefvater began producing and writing. In 2006, she produced the award-winning short film, Bad Habits, with her production company, Habit Forming Films. She then produced Wedding for One and 11-44, both directed by Kristina Lloyd, with whom she met in acting class at UCLA.
Stiefvater's writing career has seen her pen several screenplays, including Squaw, which was nominated for Best Screenplay in two festivals. Her first books, In My Contrary Garden and Cocoa For Saturdays, were published in 2012, followed by On The Merry-Go-Round in 2013, The Sun She Sets in 2014, and Fair The Rose in 2014.
Today, Mary Alexandra Stiefvater continues to work as a producer, actress, model, screenwriter, photographer, and poet, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her craft.
