Martha Williamson is a 35-year veteran of the entertainment industry, with a diverse portfolio of writing and producing credits across television drama, sitcom, and variety formats.
She is most notably recognized as the Executive Producer and Head Writer of the groundbreaking hit drama "Touched By An Angel", which garnered a remarkable nine Emmy nominations throughout its nine-year run on CBS.
Williamson made history by becoming the first woman to solely executive-produce two shows simultaneously, creating and executive-producing "Promised Land" alongside her work on "Touched By An Angel".
Her extensive writing and producing credits also include the "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" series and movie specials for Hallmark, as well as various specials and series for Disney, ABC, CBS, NBC, HBO, and other prominent cable networks.
As a celebrated industry figure, Williamson has made appearances as a featured guest on esteemed programs such as "Oprah", "60 Minutes", and "Larry King Live".
She is a proud member of the Television & Radio Hall of Fame and has received numerous accolades, including the Freedom Works Award from the U.S. Congress, the Anti-Defamation League's Deborah Award, the Edward R. Murrow Responsibility in Television Award, the Producer's Guild Nova Award, the Templeton Prize Epiphany Award, and achievement awards from the NAACP, in addition to her nine Emmy nominations.
Williamson is also a dedicated philanthropist, serving as a Trustee of her alma mater Williams College and The Pasadena Playhouse, where she collaborated with Carol Burnett in establishing the Carrie Hamilton Theatre.
In 2003, she was appointed by the President to the White House Council for Service and Civic Participation, a position she held for two years.
A native of Denver, Colorado, Williamson resides in Southern California with her husband, Jon C. Andersen, and their two daughters.
