Marshall Tyler is a renowned filmmaker and television director based in Los Angeles. With a plethora of episodic directing credits to his name, he has worked on numerous prominent projects, including "9-1-1" starring Angela Bassett for FOX, "City on a Hill" featuring Kevin Bacon and Aldis Hodge for Showtime, "Leverage: Redemption" starring Noah Wiley and Aldis Hodge for Amazon, and the dark-comedy "Average Joe" starring Deon Cole for BET+/Paramount+. Additionally, his short films, such as "Night Shift", "Cap", and "Slow Pulse", have garnered critical acclaim and premiered at esteemed film festivals like Sundance, the ABFF HBO Short Film Competition, and the Tribeca Film Festival.
Each of his short films has been broadcast on prominent networks, with "Night Shift" airing on HBO, "Cap" on CBS, and "Slow Pulse" on BET. Furthermore, his documentary "Skid Row" took Pras Michel from the legendary Fugees and placed him on the streets of LA's notorious Skid Row for nine consecutive days, premiering on Netflix.
As one of three mid-career episodic directors selected for the 2024 Apple Studios Directors Program, Marshall is also an alumnus of the ABC Disney Television Directing Program and a fellow of the Ryan Murphy Half Initiative. Through his company New Bumper & Paint, Marshall is developing his narrative feature debut, "Fever Dream", and has partnered with Vogue Studios/Condé Nast Entertainment for his upcoming feature documentary "The Prince of 7th Avenue", which delves into the life of legendary designer Willi Smith and his iconic label-brand, WilliWear.
