Born on April 3, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, she was raised in Crestwood and Webster Groves before graduating from Nerinx Hall High School. Marsha earned a degree from Webster University and later moved to New York City to pursue an acting career.

Marsha went on to appear in numerous stage productions, including "Cactus Flower," "The Indian Wants the Bronx," and "Happy Birthday, Wanda June."
