Mark Stirton, a visionary filmmaker, was born in the esteemed city of Aberdeen, situated on Scotland's picturesque north-east coast. His fascination with the cinematic arts began at a young age, but it wasn't until his late teens that he embarked on a journey to bring his creative visions to life. Alongside his friends, Stirton co-founded a video group at their local college, where he soon found himself writing and directing a significant number of productions.
Within a short span of a year, Stirton's talents had evolved, and he was producing and directing numerous projects. By the age of 25, he had successfully produced his first independent short film, "Spooked" (1995),a psychological horror that showcased his skill and craftsmanship. This remarkable achievement earned "Spooked" a nomination at the prestigious 1996 Glasgow Film Festival.
Determined to turn his passion into a career, Stirton pursued higher education in broadcast media at Aberdeen College. Later, he honed his skills as a cameraman and vision mixer for a local television station. During this period, he and his friends collaborated on several television pilot ideas, which were produced using the AVID system, laying the groundwork for all his future projects.
In 2003, Stirton took the leap and founded his own digital film production company, Stirton Productions, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his illustrious career.
