Mark, a renowned actor, writer, and director, has had a prolific career spanning over four decades. Born in 1952, Mark began his professional acting career with the Philadelphia Theatre Company at the Walnut Street Theatre, before graduating from Swarthmore College.
After graduating, Mark moved to New York City and began a season with the renowned Circle Repertory Theatre, where he starred in the critically acclaimed production of "Feedlot" and also worked in Albert Innaurato's "Ulysse in Traction". He then did a season at Joe Papp's Public Theatre, where he performed in the Obie Award-winning production of "Nasty Rumors and Final Remarks" and the hit show "Sunday Runners in the Rain".
Mark's extensive regional credits include starring as Chance Wayne in "Sweet Bird Of Youth" at the Alley Theatre, as Romeo in Shakespeare's "Romeo And Juliet" at the Walnut Street Theatre, and Colonel Lyttle in "The Emigration of Adam Kurtzig" at the Williamstown Summer Theatre Festival.
In addition to his stage work, Mark has appeared in numerous films, including "The World According to Garp" (1982),"Nightmare at Shadow Woods" (1987),"Swordfish" (2001),and "Graveyard Shift II" (1989). He has also had recurring roles on TV shows such as "Luving" and "One Life to Live", and was a season regular on "Knots Landing".
As a writer, Mark has written several solo pieces, including "An Age of Angels", which played at the Egyptian Arena Theatre, and "Tantra LA", which received the Ticket Holder Award and was Pick of the Weekend for four consecutive weeks in Entertainment Today. His four-play cycle, the Clayton Cycle, consists of "And The Wolf Finally Came", "Trickle Down", "High Torque Whine", and "A Place Called Home".
Mark is a founding member of the Grace Player's Theatre Company and a member of the Actor's Studio Directors, Playwriting Unit.
