Born into an Italian-Polish family with three siblings, he hails from the city of Cleveland, Ohio. His academic pursuits led him to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from Kent State University, where he also had the opportunity to hone his craft at the esteemed American Repertory Theatre Institute at Harvard University.
Since relocating to New York City in 1992, he has made a name for himself on the Great White Way, starring in the hit musical "Rent" on Broadway. In addition, he has appeared in numerous productions Off and Off-Off-Broadway, earning a coveted Outer Critics Circle Award and a Drama Desk nomination for his standout performance in the solo show "Fully Committed".
He went on to bring the show to new audiences, performing in Los Angeles, Boston, and London's West End. Collaborating with playwright Becky Mode, he helped create the show, which has since been met with critical acclaim. Furthermore, he co-created the solo show "This Wonderful Life", a heartfelt tribute to the classic film, alongside playwright Steve Murray.
Mark took the stage in Portland, Oregon, performing "This Wonderful Life" during the winter of 2005. His creative endeavors also extend to the co-authorship of the play "Pageant Play" with actor Matthew Wilkas, which is set to receive its world premiere in 2007.
