Biography

Mark Roberts, born January 19, 1961, is a multi-talented American creative force, renowned for his work as a screenwriter, producer, playwright, actor, and comedian.

Roberts' journey began as a stand-up comedian in Chicago, where he quickly gained recognition and was discovered by a casting director who helped him land roles in commercials. This initial success led to a series regular spot on the Téa Leoni-starring sitcom "The Naked Truth" in 1995.

However, Roberts soon realized that his true passion lay in writing, and he decided to pursue this path. His 2000 play "Couples Counseling Killed Katie", which starred Roberts and Jessica Tuck, caught the attention of renowned producer Chuck Lorre. Lorre, impressed by Roberts' work, subsequently hired him as a writer and producer on the hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men" in 2003.

Roberts' subsequent creation, "Mike & Molly", premiered in 2010 and went on to win an Emmy Award for its star, Melissa McCarthy. Lorre serves as an executive producer on the show, which has cemented Roberts' status as a successful and versatile creative force in the entertainment industry.
