Mark Lawrence originates from Ardnacrusha, a location situated within the picturesque county of Clare, nestled in the west of Ireland. Prior to pursuing a career in acting, he embarked on a journey to study Medicine at University College Cork, ultimately qualifying as a Doctor. Throughout his time at U.C.C., Mark actively participated in numerous plays with the U.C.C. Dramatic Society, which ultimately led him to relocate to Dublin to hone his craft at the esteemed Bow Street Academy for Screen Acting. His impressive performance as 'Lar' in the acclaimed play 'Such a Local Row' garnered him a nomination for the prestigious ISDA Award for Best Actor.
Lawrence has had the privilege of appearing in leading and supporting roles with various companies in Cork, Limerick, and Dublin, most notably taking on the lead male role of 'Nigel' in 'Sharon' by Katie Holly at Bewley's Theatre, Dublin.
Beyond his accomplishments as an actor, Mark has also demonstrated his writing prowess. His short play 'In a League of his Own' was a finalist in the 2014 British Theatre Challenge and was subsequently published in 2015. He has recently taken on the role of director for the pilot episode of 'The Height Of It', a TV series set in North Dublin. Mark is also an accomplished sketch comedian, having written and performed with the group 'Kings of the Harpies'.
Currently, Mark is rehearsing for his upcoming role as 'Willie Bambury' in 'Fallen Angels' by Noel Coward, which is set to premiere at Dee-Light Studios, Dublin in November 2018.
