After a successful career in film and television, Mark embarked on a new creative venture by forming a band with his childhood friend and classmate, Billy Hardwicke. The duo had been making music together for several years prior, and their shared passion ultimately led to the formation of the band Littlehouse.
Mark, a skilled musician, took on the role of acoustic guitarist, while Billy Hardwicke, with his electrifying stage presence, played electric guitar and shared vocal duties. The duo was further strengthened by the addition of fellow friends Patrick Watson on bass and Steve Claridge on drums.
As the primary songwriters, Mark and Billy crafted all the songs for Littlehouse, which would eventually lead to their debut performance at the renowned Bull & Gate in Kentish town. Their impressive show caught the attention of Andrew Maurice, who would go on to become their manager.
The band's first EP, featuring the standout track "Close My Eyes," was recorded, with Billy Hardwicke later incorporating the song into his solo album, "The Goodbye Look." Littlehouse continued to gig around the London circuit between 1998 and 2000, leaving a lasting impression on the music scene.
Although the band eventually disbanded, Mark and Billy's friendship has endured, and they continue to make music together to this day. In 2013, they celebrated an impressive 40 years of friendship, a testament to the power of shared creative passion and enduring camaraderie.
Billy Hardwicke, a talented musician and songwriter, has gone on to pursue a successful solo career, while Mark has continued to make significant contributions to the music world. Despite the passing of time, their friendship and musical partnership remain a source of inspiration and joy for fans and fellow musicians alike.
