Mark David is a multi-talented individual who has made a name for himself in the film industry as an award-winning Writer, Director, and Cinematographer. His third independent feature film, "American Cowslip", released in 2010, starred a talented ensemble cast including Diane Ladd, Rip Torn, Cloris Leachman, Bruce Dern, Val Kilmer, Peter Falk, and Lin Shaye.
The film, which marked Peter Falk's last big screen appearance, took top honors at the 2010 Albuquerque Film Festival. David's versatility as a filmmaker is evident in his ability to direct, cinematograph, edit, and produce his projects.
Born in Houston, David's passion for music began at a young age, and he directed a music video for his former rock band "The Agency" while living in Austin, Texas. The video premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and caught the attention of the festival circuit.
As a composer, David has created and written soundtracks for some of his films, collaborating with musicians such as Coolio, members of Soundgarden, and King's X. His studio band "Ultrarev" was signed to indie label Feudal Records in 2009.
David has worked on numerous independent features, including the multiple award-winning film "The Preacher's Daughter" and its sequel "A Woman Betrayed" (also known as "The Preacher's Mistress"). His fourth feature film, "Jonny's Sweet Revenge", was released in 2016 and won ten awards at film festivals, including Best Director, Best Film, and an Audience Award.
In 2015, David directed and shot the drama/thriller "Texas Heart", starring Lin Shaye, John Savage, and Daniella Bobadilla. The film won Best Picture at the Albuquerque Film Festival and received numerous other awards. He then went on to direct the controversial indie film "Star*cker" in 2017, which he also wrote, cinematographed, and produced.
