Mark Davis, a Chicago-based lighting console programmer with a prior career as a child actor, has had a multifaceted journey in the entertainment industry.
From the tender age of 9 to 15, Mark had the opportunity to act in a wide range of productions, including feature films, television shows, commercials, shorts, and live theater, primarily in the Southeast.
As he gained experience on set, Mark's interest in the technical aspects of filmmaking began to grow, prompting him to explore the world behind the camera at UNCSA's summer film school during his teenage years.
Mark's focus shifted towards cinematography while pursuing a degree in Radio/TV/Film at Northwestern University, where he honed his skills and developed a strong understanding of the craft.
After graduating, Mark began freelancing and co-founded Atlas Lighting LLC, a lighting and grip rental house in Chicago, where he worked as a lighting designer, gaffer, and key grip for various clients.
In 2019, Mark made the decision to leave Atlas Lighting and focus full-time on his career as a lighting console programmer, which has allowed him to work with prominent brands such as Facebook, Lincoln, Wal-Mart, Aleve, Art Van, and Grant Thornton.
Despite his professional focus on console programming, Mark continues to use side projects as a means of exploring his creative interests in cinematography and lighting design, ensuring that his artistic passions remain a vital part of his professional journey.
