Marianne Stone was a British character player who had a long and varied career in film, stage, and television. Born on August 23, 1922, in King's Cross, London, she was raised by her grandparents and developed an interest in music and acting at an early age. She won a music scholarship to the Camden School for Girls and later studied at the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Marianne began her career on stage, making her West End debut in 1945, and went on to win the Gertrude Lawrence Award for Character Acting. She then transitioned to film, appearing in numerous "A" and "B" pictures, including Brighton Rock, Escape Danger, and the Carry On... series.

Throughout her career, Marianne worked with many notable directors and actors, including the Boulting brothers and James Mason. She also appeared in a number of television productions, including Eccentricities of a Nightingale, Little Lord Fauntleroy, and the mini-series A Man Called Intrepid.

Marianne was married to actor and producer Peter Noble, with whom she had two daughters. She passed away on December 21, 2009, at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances on stage and screen.
