Marianne Maddalena, a striking wavy brunette with an air of elegance, hails from Italian descent, yet was born in Lansing, Michigan, in the early 1960s. She pursued her academic endeavors at Michigan State University, subsequently embarking on a journey of self-discovery and professional growth in Italy and France.
As the 1980s dawned, Marianne entered the realm of cinema, securing a position with Warner Bros. on the 1986 film "Deadly Friend". Her career trajectory took a significant turn when she became the personal secretary for the renowned filmmaker Wes Craven, forging a lasting bond with him.
In late 1986, Craven extended an offer for Marianne to join him as an assistant on his forthcoming project, "The Serpent and the Rainbow". The production, which commenced filming in February 1987 in Haiti, proved to be an arduous experience for the entire crew and cast. When the film was released in 1988, Marianne's aspirations to delve into production began to take shape.
Craven was developing "Shocker" for Alive Films, with Marianne attached as producer alongside Barin Kumar. Despite the modest budget, the film went on to gross a respectable $16 million at the box office. This initial success cemented Marianne's status as a valuable collaborator, and she soon became an official co-producer for Wes Craven.
Throughout the 1990s, Marianne's versatility and expertise were showcased through her work on various projects. She produced the NBC TV movie "Night Visions" in 1990, followed by the TV series "Nightmare Cafe" two years later. Between these television endeavors, she worked on the film "The People Under the Stairs" and, with "New Nightmare", earned a nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards.
Marianne's executive production credits include the 1995 film "Vampire in Brooklyn", which unfortunately did not fare well at the box office. However, her subsequent collaborations with Craven on the successful "Scream" franchise, including "Scream 2", "Music of the Heart", and "Scream 3", solidified her position as a respected and accomplished producer in the industry.
