Maria Conchita Alonso

Maria Conchita Alonso was born Maria Concepcion Alonso Bustillo on June 29, 1955, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, although she spent most of her childhood and formative years in Caracas, Venezuela. This dual nationality would later influence her diverse cultural background and artistic endeavors. Prior to pursuing a career in the entertainment industry, Maria Conchita gained recognition as a beauty pageant contestant, being crowned Miss Teenager World in 1971 and subsequently placing as the first runner-up in the Miss Venezuela 1975 competition, which in turn qualified her for the prestigious Miss World 1975 pageant where she ranked among the top seven finalists.
