Maria is a multifaceted individual who has dedicated over two decades to serving the arts community in both Long Island, New York, and Los Angeles. Her extensive expertise encompasses various roles, including award-winning writer, director, producer, and acting coach.
Throughout her illustrious career, Maria has been an advocate, speaker, committee, and board member for numerous organizations, such as Women In Media, The Millie D'Agostino Scholarship Fund, Breaking into Hollywood, Youth Biz Alliance, NYSTEA, EdTA, BOCES - Arts in Education, and Kids for Kids Productions.
Maria's production company, Cappricielli Productions, has released several notable films, including Reach, which premiered in 10 of the top 20 major markets across the United States and was distributed by Freestyle Digital Media. The film received widespread recognition, including official selections at the Dances With Films Festival and the Outshine LGBTQ Film Festival.
Maria's documentary, Find an Identity, explores the theme of "the power of kindness" and was nominated for best documentary at the New York Long Island Film Festival and the Burbank International Film Festival.
In addition to her work in film, Maria has also produced and negotiated sales and distribution for the high school comedy feature film DIVOS!, starring Jason Busey, Nicole Sullivan, and Marissa Jaret Winokur.
Maria's passion for music has led her to create numerous award-winning music and music videos, including HURRICANE, featuring Emmy-winning rapper Chris Redd and Emmy-winning hair and makeup artist Mo Meinhart.
After producing the world premiere of the one-act play Pizza & Whine at the Hudson Guild Theatres in New York and Los Angeles, Maria adapted the characters to the screen in Marvista Entertainment's holiday film Four Cousins and a Christmas, now available on Hulu, Peacock, and Tubi. The film marks Maria's directorial debut and features an all-star cast, including Teri Polo, Nicholas Turturro, Robert Davi, and Jared Sandler.
Maria secured a record label producing the soundtrack of the same name and continues to create content, writing, directing, and producing, while aligning with like-minded content creators to bring projects from development through sales.
Currently, Maria is negotiating worldwide rights for two 2024 feature film releases: the psychological thriller The Lady of the Lake, written and directed by Maria, starring Seth Gilliam, Nia Sioux, and Emery Kelly, and Weekly World News Studios presents: The Zombie Wedding, starring Cheri Otero, Micky Dolenz, and Vinny Pastore.
