Margie Stokley is a multifaceted artist, boasting a remarkable range of creative pursuits, including published playwriting, a departure from her initial passion for acting. This transformation was sparked by the tragic loss of her brother, a US Marine, in 1998. Prior to this, she had been a student at the prestigious NYU, Tisch School of the Arts.
As she navigated the aftermath of her brother's passing, Stokley found solace in writing, which eventually led her to pen her first full-length play, ELEPHANT. This groundbreaking work was subsequently produced and published in various books and anthologies, solidifying her status as a rising talent in the world of playwriting.
Currently, Stokley is pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Writing (MFAW) at Goddard College, an esteemed institution renowned for its commitment to fostering artistic growth. Her academic achievements have not gone unnoticed, as she was awarded the Engaged Artist Award upon acceptance to the program. Furthermore, her plays THE DEEP END and M.O.M have been selected for publication in The Pitkin Review, a respected literary journal.
