Margie Stewart, a stunning beauty, held the esteemed title of the first and only Official Army Poster Girl during World War II. Millions of pin-up photos featuring her captivating image were distributed to soldiers worldwide, spreading joy and morale boosts across the globe. Interestingly, Eleanor Roosevelt attempted to halt the poster distribution, but her efforts were unsuccessful, and many soldiers were grateful for the continued morale boost provided by Margie's iconic posters.
Before her stint as a poster girl, Margie modeled in both Chicago and Los Angeles, eventually landing a contract with RKO. During her short yet prolific film career, Margie starred in an impressive 20 movies. However, her experiences towards the end of the war led her to reevaluate her priorities, and she ultimately relinquished her film career.
Post-war, Margie married Jerry Johnson and dedicated her life to the music industry. Together, they produced numerous notable shows at the legendary Hollywood Bowl, featuring talented artists such as The Beatles, Barbara Streisand, and The Beach Boys.
Today, at the remarkable age of 90, Margie remains active, working out daily in her pool. She is also a proud grandmother of three and has shared her life with her loyal companion, a pet tortoise named Caesar, for over 54 years. Caesar has earned the nickname "King of the House" and enjoys being spoiled rotten by everyone who knows him.
