Manny Leo Velazquez, a Puerto Rican filmmaker, was born on May 13, 1998, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois. He is renowned for his underground B-movies, including The Last House of Horror (2023),I Recorded a Murder! (2016),and Don't Go Into the House by the Woods (2017).
Velazquez's journey in filmmaking began at a young age, as he started making no-budget feature-length films during his teenage years. His first feature-length slasher film, Savage High (2015),was shot and edited at his high school, where he was just 15 years old at the time.
In the summer of 2015, Velazquez wrote and directed his second feature-length indie psychological thriller film, Shockwave (2016),which was also shot during that summer.
I Recorded a Murder! (2016),his third drama/suspense horror film, was shot at his high school and premiered at the Patio Theater in Chicago, Illinois, on September 25, 2016, as part of the 2016 Chicago Horror Film Festival.
In the same year, Velazquez directed and produced the psychic thriller film Psychedelia (2016),which went on to win the Bronze Award at the 2016 'Fame'us International Film Festival. Additionally, he filmed Dream Nightmare (2016) back-to-back with I Recorded a Murder! from September to October 2016.
In 2017, Velazquez launched his own distributing company, Exploitation International Pictures, which focuses on producing and distributing custom-made independent grind-house horror, thriller, mystery, comedy, and action films.
