Malhar Thakar is a renowned actor in the Gujarati film industry, hailing from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. His educational background comprises of being an alumnus of Shree Ambe Vidyalaya and Sheth C.N. Vidyalaya, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Before venturing into Gujarati cinema, Thakar spent nine years honing his craft in the theatre. His big-screen debut came with the comedy film Chhello Divas: A New Beginning in 2015, which turned out to be a massive commercial success. However, it was his 2016 film Thai Jashe! alongside Manoj Joshi that brought him widespread recognition, earning him the 16th Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen & Stage award for best actor for his role as Pranav Joshi.
Thakar's subsequent success came with the romantic film Love Ni Bhavai in 2017, which ran in theatres for a whopping 100 days. In 2018, he took the bold step of launching his production house, aptly named Ticket Window Entertainment.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Thakar also started an NGO to provide support to those affected by the crisis. Besides his work in films, Thakar has also acted in popular television and web series. He made his mark on Hindi television with the award-winning show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2008, and later went on to act in the Gujarati television show Do Not Disturb for two seasons, commencing in 2019.
In 2022, Thakar made his Bollywood debut with the film Maja Ma, where he played a supporting role. He has also been a part of several music videos, including Shahid Mallya's 'Aazmake Na Dekhi' and Santvani Trivedi's 'Aatma ni Odakh'.
