Biography

Malcolm Sinclair's academic background began with a degree in drama and theology from the University of Hull, laying the foundation for his future endeavors. He furthered his studies by enrolling in a one-year post-graduate acting course at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

After accumulating seven years of experience in various repertory companies across the country, Sinclair made his London debut in 1985 at the Notting Hill Gate Theatre in Arthur Schnitzler's play "Anatole". This marked a significant turning point in his career, as he describes it as the first production that garnered him widespread recognition.

Throughout his illustrious career, Sinclair has had the privilege of working with both the National and Royal Shakespeare companies, showcasing his versatility as a performer. He has also taken on musical roles in notable productions such as "Privates On Parade" and "My Fair Lady".

In addition to his stage work, Sinclair has appeared in numerous television shows, often playing the role of a victim in whodunit mystery dramas. However, he has also had the opportunity to portray more substantial characters, such as the supercilious Assistant Chief Constable Freddie Fisher in the popular series "Pie In the Sky".

In July 2010, Sinclair was elected as the president of the Equity actors' union, a testament to his dedication and commitment to the performing arts community.
