Mahsun Kirmizigul was born into a large family in Diyarbakir. He completed primary and secondary schools in his hometown before moving to Istanbul with big hopes and dreams of becoming an artist. Despite struggling with difficult conditions in the city, he released six albums as a child, but could not achieve his desired success.
Undeterred, Mahsun Kirmizigul decided to study at the conservatory and graduated from Istanbul University's State Conservatory Singing Department. He released his album "Alem Buysa" in 1993, which almost turned the music world upside down and made him famous.
Mahsun Kirmizigul went on to generate his own music style in the 90's, becoming one of Turkey's best voices and dragging millions of fans after him. He achieved unparalleled success in the music world, releasing seven albums, one maxi single, and one single over 11 years, which reached a total of 16 million sales charts.
The artist gave hundreds of concerts on five continents, becoming the most well-known musician in the Middle East, the Caucasus, and the Balkans apart from Turkey. However, in the mid-2000s, Mahsun Kirmizigul took a radical decision to take a break from music and dedicate himself to explaining the problems of his country and making communal films.
Over the next 16 years, Mahsun Kirmizigul produced six films that are considered among the masterpieces of Turkish cinema. His movies were watched by approximately 20 million people in domestic and foreign cinemas. He wrote, directed, starred in, and composed music for his films, including "Beyaz Melek", "I Saw the Sun", "Five Minarets in New York", "Mucize", "Vezir Parmagi", and "Mucize Ask 2".
Mahsun Kirmizigul's films received numerous awards and accolades, including the "Best Film" and "Best Director" awards at the 41st Houston Film Festival and the "Best Performance" and "Best Cinematography" awards at the Singapore International Film Festival.
In 2019, Mahsun Kirmizigul started working on albums again and returned to the music world in 2022 with his album "Hos Geldin", which consisted of 17 songs and featured a unique blend of genres such as Turkish Pop, Fusion, Edm, Progressive House, Anatolian Rock, Latin, Trap, Alternative, Authentic Music, Ragatoon, Acoustic, Turkish Folk Music, and Arabesque.
