Mahmoud Dowlatabadi

Mahmoud Dowlatabadi, a renowned Iranian writer and actor, was born on August 1, 1940, in the humble town of Dowlatabad, Sabzevar. Throughout his illustrious career, he has been a steadfast advocate for the promotion of social and artistic freedom in contemporary Iran. Dowlatabadi's works are distinguished by their unflinching realism, often drawing heavily from his own personal experiences of rural life. In 2020, he penned and recited a poignant piece titled Soldier (Half-Burned boots) for the esteemed Art of Peace global project, expertly composed and arranged by the talented Mehran Alirezaei. Notably, Dowlatabadi has been a long-time collaborator with this esteemed initiative.
