Mahesh Pailoor is a renowned Indian-American writer/director currently residing in Los Angeles. His childhood was spent in a small town in Maine, where he later pursued his passion for film at New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts.
Mahesh's early success in the industry was marked by the premiere of his short film, Little India, at the SXSW festival, which was followed by screenings at numerous festivals worldwide. He then further honed his skills as a Directing Fellow at the esteemed American Film Institute, where he received the prestigious Franklin J. Schaffner Fellow Award for his direction of the thesis film, Still Life.
Mahesh's feature film debut, Brahmin Bulls, was an independent production starring Sendhil Ramamurthy, Roshan Seth, and Academy Award winner Mary Steenburgen. The film received widespread critical acclaim, winning the Audience Award at the San Diego Film Festival, the Jury Prize for Best American Indie at the Sonoma International Film Festival, and was subsequently released theatrically in the US and UK in 2014.
In addition to scripted content, Mahesh has also directed award-winning documentaries, commercials, and branded content for prominent clients such as Best Buy, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Yamaha. His impressive credentials include being an alumnus of the Disney/ABC Directing Program, Film Independent's Screenwriting Lab, and Project:Involve.
Mahesh's latest achievement is being accepted into the NBC Emerging Director Program, where he will be directing an episode of the highly acclaimed television series, The Blacklist, in 2019.
