Biography

Meet the courageous American woman who was subjected to the heinous and inhumane practice of modern-day slavery, forced to endure a life of servitude in the rural areas surrounding Gillsburg, Mississippi and Kentwood, Louisiana.

For an extended period, she was trapped in a state of bondage, her freedom and autonomy cruelly withheld from her by her captors. Despite the immense hardships and challenges she faced, she remained resilient and determined, never losing hope that one day she would be reunited with her loved ones and experience the freedom that was rightfully hers.

The turning point in her ordeal came in early 1963, when her family finally achieved liberation, bringing an end to her long and arduous journey.
