Her early work, co-written with Cody Knotts, featured in the films Breeding Farm and Gore Orphanage, showcased her creative potential and passion for storytelling.
Undeterred by the challenges of indie filmmaking, Deering seized the opportunity to create something truly unique. With a modest budget of a few thousand dollars, she wrote and directed Spirit Animal, a shot on video (SOV) horror film that received widespread critical acclaim. This groundbreaking achievement not only solidified Deering's reputation as a bold and innovative filmmaker but also paved the way for her future projects.
As a testament to her success, Deering went on to direct several shorts for the esteemed Natasha Nighty's Boudoir of Blood anthology series. Her latest film, Bathtub Shark Attack, was initially showcased as a trailer in Spirit Animal, hinting at the excitement and suspense that awaited audiences in her latest cinematic endeavour.
