Her impressive career spanned nearly three decades, from approximately 1922 to the late 1940s, during which time she graced the stages of Broadway shows, floor shows at esteemed establishments such as the Cotton Club, the Apollo Theatre, and the West End Theater, all located in the heart of Harlem.

Born in Baltimore, Madeline spent her formative years in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Harlem before embarking on a life in the spotlight. Her mother's second husband, the illustrious bandleader James Reese Europe, likely played a significant role in nurturing her passion for the performing arts.

Throughout her illustrious career, Madeline appeared in numerous productions, including the 1925 show "Plantation Days," which featured the talented Florence Mills.
