Biography

Macee Binns is a multi-talented individual with a background in film, television, stage productions, and viral content. Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, she relocated to Los Angeles in 2010 to pursue a career in the entertainment industry and further her education in the creative arts.

Macee's film credits include roles in FDR: American Badass!, American Ultra, and Miles Away, where she played News Reporter Sandy Killings. She has also appeared on television shows such as 2 Broke Girls, Men of a Certain Age, The Doctors, and Luck. Additionally, she can be seen in a sketch with actor Andy Samberg on Comedy Bang! Bang! and in multiple episodes of Hangar 1: The UFO Files, now streaming on Netflix and The History Channel.

As an accomplished writer, Macee has won several awards for her plays, screenplays, articles, and short stories. Her acclaimed female-led romantic dramedy, Hand Twins, won awards for Best Feature Screenplay at the 2022 California Women's Film Festival, the 2022 First Women Film Festival, and the 2022 Venus Community Awards. The unproduced feature-length script also placed as a Semi-Finalist at the 2021 Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, the 2021 Scriptation Showcase Script Competition, and the 2022 Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards.

Macee is a published playwright whose works have been produced at regional and community theaters across the U.S. Her short film script, Row 28, was awarded a Finalist Title at the Hollywood Screenplay Contest in 2014. The stage play version of Row 28 was published by JAC Publishing & Promotions and is sold on Amazon and Kindle eBooks. Two original monologues from her play, Stone Cold Sober, were selected by Smith and Kraus Publishers for print in their annual anthology book series: The Best Women's Stage Monologues of 2017.

Macee has worked as a Content Writer for TheRichest, Ranker, and TopBuzz, where several of her articles went viral and received over 3 million views online. She has also worked as a Reporter for The Canyon News in Los Angeles and as a Segment Writer, Producer, and occasional Co-host of the hit podcast, Left Unsupervised. In 2021, Macee served on the Arkansas Arts Council as a Grant Reviewer and Panel Member, participating in the formal grant review process for performing arts organizations in her home state of Arkansas.

Macee co-writes a women's comedy blog, Thoughts From A Tiny Ass Chair, with actress Fernanda Chaves. LA Indies Independent Film Magazine featured Macee as an Up-And-Coming Hollywood Screenwriter in an article about her award-winning feature screenplay, Hand Twins. In January 2023, Cannes Film Awards handpicked Macee's screenplay, Hand Twins, as one of the select few scripts to be featured in the distinguished festival's Annual Distribution List. Bold Journey Magazine recently did a full profile on Macee and her screenplay, Hand Twins, as part of the Bold Journey Series highlighting creatives in Hollywood that you should know.
